We have arrived in Spain! We’ll be here for the rest of the trip, which ends when we must board a plane at Madrid’s Barajas Airport on Tuesday for our return trip to the States.
Our next destination is the island of Mallorca.

We left the ship early and found our way to downtown Palma de Mallorca.
Sangria, all lined up and ready at La Cueva
Pig legs (Serrano ham) were a little disconcerting to my uneducated palate
Oh my.. It surely tasted amazing with tortilla Espanola
Not knowing anything about this beautiful place, we immediately found a man named Gary, and agreed on a price for him to show us around the island for a few hours. We saw the Cathedral of Saint Mary, the Bellver Castle, even the local Plaza de Toros. No bullfights today so Pat and I stood in the center of the bullring for a picture.
The city of Palma is amazing. Tiny streets that are so narrow our car was nearly scraping both sides getting through. Beautiful flowers for sale that are grown on the island, and wonderful food!
Gary dropped us off at a little restaurant called Las Cuevas down a side street. Las Cuevas (The Cave) had friendly people and typical Spanish food and drink. We, of course, had sangria, the best we ever tasted. Spanish tortilla, Serrano ham, manchego cheese, and coconut ice cream for dessert. After about an hour, Gary returned to pick us up to drive us back to the ship.
We had a great day in Palma de Mallorca. Pat wants to move back here for good. She’ll get no argument from me.
