Final day in Greece – April 16, 2018

We have enjoyed being in Greece so much. And I’ve loved sharing this magnificent culture with Pat. It’s been nearly 40 years since I explored this country, tasted its food, and spoke with the Greek people. I missed it when I left back then, I will miss it again when we leave tomorrow.

Today, we hired a driver and went to the iconic village of Oia (pronounced EE-ah. Don’t ask me why the “O” is silent.). The trip took us through Thira, the capital city of Santorini.

Oia is the city that you see with the blue domed church in all the advertising promoting travel to this island. It is beautiful indeed. I’ll let Pat’s pictures prove that!

When we got back to the hotel we decided to simply relax for the rest of the day and prepare for our entrance into Paris tomorrow. We will miss Greece but can’t wait to get back to the city we love so dearly. We’ll just trade one beautiful place for another. Sounds like a win-win situation to me.
