Day 14 – The English Channel – May 17, 2019

We are currently in the very waters where our military crossed the English Channel on June 6, 1944. It is extremely humbling to be in this very historic area. Trying to imagine the thoughts and feelings of those young men during the crossing, heading for the beaches of Normandy. They have all my respect and admiration. By the way, as far as I can see, no one on this ship is even paying attention to this moment in time. It’s disturbing how people today just won’t identify or care about the importance of our history and the price these young men paid on D-Day. I salute all who paid with their lives on that day.
