During the past few weeks, I’ve been carrying the weight of loss. Friends I once laughed with, shared memories with, and thought would always be around are suddenly gone from the earth. Their absences leave a useless quiet that seeps into everything.

Moments like these force me to pause and bring to the surface how fragile life is, how unpredictable and fleeting. It’s impossible not to think: who might be next? Could it be someone else I love? Could it be me? And that thought, as heavy as it is, lingers in the corners of my mind.

But in that reflection also comes a desire to live differently—to cherish the connections I still have, to reach out more, to speak what’s in my heart more often, and to, sometimes, leave some words unsaid. Loss may bring sorrow, but it also brings clarity: we are all temporary, and that truth makes the people we hold dear, and the moments we share, all the more precious. Ask God for peace and discernment.  Ask God for His gift of forgiveness. Live today to the fullest extent.

“Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” – James 4:14
