The culture today seems to openly mock the very principles and values that helped shape our society. Traditions, moral standards, and the sense of personal responsibility that once defined our nation are being eroded. Political leaders show themselves to be thieves and liars, teachers prey on the kids they’re supposed to teach and protect. For over 250 years, generations worked to build a foundation of integrity, civic knowledge, and self-reliance, yet much of that feels to be declining or, at the very least, under attack.
Today people seem to live by fewer and fewer values, and for many, the concepts of respect, commitment, and duty are foreign. I can’t find much optimism that this trend will reverse itself anytime soon. Practical skills that once were basic expectations have nearly vanished. Young people often cannot write in cursive, read an analog clock, or navigate a map. They lack fluency in history and geography, leaving them disconnected from both their heritage and their place in the world.
I pray that a spiritual awakening will arrive soon, touching the hearts of all who long for peace and purpose. May it break through the noise and distractions of daily life, opening our eyes to the beauty of compassion, kindness, and understanding. Let this awakening remind us of our shared humanity and guide us to live with humility and love. I believe that when hearts are stirred and spirits are renewed, the world will reflect light and hope like never before. May this shift come sooner rather than later, bringing healing to every person and harmony to all communities.
