It is a profound honor to be a citizen of a country that has stood as a beacon of liberty, resilience, and opportunity for a quarter of a millennium. On this Independence Day there are millions of American citizens who openly express disdain for the very nation they call home. Whether motivated by political disillusionment, social grievances, or personal experiences, these expressions of hostility highlight a deep divide within the nation. In a time when patriotism and national unity once served as common ground, the daily repetition of anti-American sentiment reminds us that this fracture is not hidden—it is loudly and persistently declared.
As someone who has lived in many countries around the world, I have valued every chapter of my life. Still, there is something special about being an American. This nation is built on laws, rights, and freedoms that remain strong, regardless of differing opinions.
