Our nation is being threatened. Not in some distant, theoretical way. Not as a talking point for a campaign ad. It is being threatened right now, in real time, in the classrooms where kids should be learning, in the culture that should be lifting them up, in the economy that should be giving them a fair shot, and in the halls of power where their interests should come first.
If we blow this moment, the nation is gone and our destiny is finished.
For more than two hundred years, America has been an inheritance. Each generation received a country that was a little freer, a little stronger, a little more prosperous than the one before it, and each generation understood its duty was to preserve it and pass it on. That chain is now being deliberately broken.
We are watching our children grow up in a country that teaches them to be ashamed of their own history, that tells them their nation was never great, that their parents’ values are backward, and that the flag that flew over their grandparents’ service means oppression. A child who is taught to despise his own country will never defend it, and will never lead it.
We are watching an economy that punishes work and rewards dependence, where housing is out of reach for young families, where a paycheck does not stretch to the end of the month, where debt is sold as opportunity. What future can we promise a child if he cannot afford a home, cannot start a family, cannot see a path better than his father’s?
We are watching a border that is not a border, laws that are not enforced, and institutions that no longer believe in the people they were created to serve. A nation without borders is not a nation. A nation that will not enforce its own laws is not a sovereign people. It is a territory waiting to be claimed by someone else.
And we are watching leaders who seem to have made their peace with American decline, who manage our fall rather than fight for our rise, who apologize for our strength while our rivals build theirs.
This is the crossroads. History does not give endless second chances.
If we accept this managed decline, if we look away now because it is easier, because we are tired, because we think someone else will fix it, then we will be the first generation in American history to leave our children a worse country than we were given. We will have broken faith with every sacrifice that came before us, from Lexington to Gettysburg to Normandy.
But if we choose to act, if we choose to speak plainly, to vote, to run for the school board, to show up, to refuse to let our children be indoctrinated, indebted, and demoralized, then we can still secure that future.
The nation is not yet gone. The destiny is not yet finished. But the window is closing. What we do in the next few years will decide whether our children inherit a republic, or merely live in its ruins.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14
