I don’t know about you, but every day I realize I’m a blessed person. Not in a loud or boastful way, but in a quiet way that settles in when I stop and look around. The world is quick to point out what is missing, what is broken, what should be better. When I take a minute to really see what is here, the blessings are hard to miss. I know I didn’t arrange all of this on my own.

God has given me a wonderful wife. That alone is more than I could have asked for. She is my partner and my best friend, the one who knows my strengths and my flaws and loves me through both. She makes the house feel like home, she makes me laugh when I take myself too seriously, and she reminds me to be thankful. To walk through life with someone faithful beside you is a gift you never stop being grateful for.

He gave me two children, and watching them become who they are has been one of the great joys of my life. They taught me what love looks like when it doesn’t keep score, and what it means to show up day after day. Even now, with lives of their own, they are a constant reminder that family is both given and built. I am proud of the people they are, and I thank God that I got to be their father.

Then there are the simple, everyday provisions that are so easy to overlook. I have someplace to live here in the USA, a roof over my head and walls that hold a lifetime of memories. I have a car that starts when I turn the key and carries me where I need to go. I have food on the table, enough to eat and enough to share. And I have a brain that still works, that lets me think clearly, remember the good days, learn something new, and have honest conversations with God and with others.

So yes, I am a blessed man. Not because everything is perfect, but because the things that matter most are already here. My blessings are not measured in dollars or achievements. They are measured in a wife who loves me, children I cherish, a home, daily bread, and a mind to appreciate it all. These are not accidents to me. They are gifts from God, and the best way I know to honor them is to live each day with gratitude and try to pass a little of that blessing on to someone else.

“Give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his lovingkindness endureth for ever.” – Psalm 107:1
