One of the biggest mistakes we make in life is the belief that we have time. We tell ourselves there will always be more time—time to say the words we’ve been holding back, to express love, gratitude, or forgiveness. We assume there will be time to complete that meaningful project, to pursue a dream we’ve been postponing, or to take that extraordinary trip to a place we’ve always longed to see.

But time is elusive, and it slips through our fingers faster than we realize. Opportunities fade, relationships drift, and moments we thought were guaranteed turn into regrets. Life doesn’t pause for us to gather our courage or perfect our plans. The truth is that the perfect time rarely arrives—it must be created now. The sooner we embrace the present, the less power regret will hold over our future.

Instead of waiting for the perfect moment, we must recognize that the perfect moment is the one we choose to seize. Every day offers a chance to step toward the experiences that ignite our curiosity and joy. It might mean booking the trip before every detail is figured out, starting the project that feels daunting, or saying yes to the adventure we’ve always postponed. When we embrace action over hesitation, we transform our lives from a series of intentions into a collection of stories worth remembering.

“We must work the works of him who sent us while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work” – John 9:4
