There may come a time in your life when God strips everything in your life away. Not because He’s cruel, but because He’s preparing you for something bigger; just like Job in the Bible.
It never feels like preparation when it’s happening. It actually feels like a big loss. Your job, the relationship, the perfect plan, the identity you built — all gone. And you’re left in a bare room wondering what you did wrong. Well, be assured, you didn’t do anything wrong. You’re being pruned. God doesn’t prune dead trees; He prunes fruitful ones.
God is not punishing you, rather He’s clearing the ground. In the pruning-season, your foundation gets exposed. You lose what was never meant to hold you, so you can finally see what can’t be taken from you. If it was built on sand, He reveals it — not to shame you, but to give you a chance to rebuild on the Rock.
Your hands are emptied. You can’t receive something new while still clutching the old. Emptiness isn’t absence — it’s readiness.
Your hearing is restored. When life is loud, you can’t hear Him. In the quiet, after everything falls away, you finally do.
So if you’re in the wilderness now, take heart. This isn’t the end of your story. This is the clearing before the building. God isn’t trying to break you. He’s making room for what comes next. And what He’s preparing for you is definitely bigger than what you lost.
