It’s time to stop searching so hard and just allow things to happen in your life.

For as long as you have lived, good and bad events have just shown up. You didn’t put in any effort at all — friendships, opportunities, losses, turns in the road — they just happened. They arrived on their own schedule, not yours.

And yet when you truly want something to occur, or desperately want something not to occur, you now put in tremendous effort to force the issue. You worry over it, push it, and try to control every variable. You know that never works. What you have to drag into your life, you have to keep dragging to keep it there.

When you stop forcing the process, you start noticing more clearly. Not everything that shows up in life is meant to be welcomed — some things are hard, painful, and you would never invite them in. You learn to stop chasing what isn’t yours and to stop wrestling with what is. Then you realize the good things — the peace, the people, the opportunities that are truly meant for you — don’t need to be chased. They just need the space and the perfect timing to reach you. And they will reach you; they always have.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
