Every morning I spend quiet time trying to draw closer to God, but sometimes doubts fill my mind and I have questions. I’ve learned that examining my connection with God is not failure, it is how the connection grows. Faith becomes real when I pause to honestly ask where I stand with Him.
Concern about your relationship with God is a good sign. A cold heart doesn’t worry about belonging to Christ. That concern shows you still care and that your heart is still turned toward Him.
When you ask Him to search your soul and show you what needs to be addressed, He will answer.
Scripture treats this kind of self-examination as normal and necessary. We are told to test ourselves to see if we are in the faith, and to invite God to search our hearts. God is not offended by honest questions. He uses them to deepen us.
That questioning is part of working toward eternity with Him. When you bring your concern to Him and trust what Jesus has done more than what you feel, doubt gives way to assurance, and your walk becomes more settled and sure. Praise God every moment. He will always be listening.
“Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” – Psalms 139:23-24
